This popular program is a great alternative to costly horse ownership since there is no easy way around the expense when it comes to horses. Take a look: the cost of a decent, basic & well-trained horse (about a minimum of $3500 and up), monthly boarding costs (minimum of $300), tack and related equipment just for the horse (about $1000), and monthly vet and farrier bills for a well horse ($50 & up). Not to mention lessons, training for the horse, coaching fees, show stabling and entry fees.
In light of those numbers, we have put together a few different horse "Ownership" packages. You can get the feel of ownership without the prohibitive costs associated with it through participation in the horse-share program. When you sign up, you are assigned to a horse which you will have access to for riding at your leisure, all health related expenses are covered and tack is supplied.
- Partial Share: Includes two riding sessions per week.
- Half Share includes four riding sessions per week
- Full Share includes six riding sessions per week.
Horse Sharing ride times can be variable as horses will continue to be used for the lesson program. A schedule will be worked out that will satisfy everyone. Session times include grooming, tacking, warm-up, riding time, horse cool down, cleaning and putting away of equipment if necessary. See FEE Page for pricing.
